Ribbon Windows
Ribbon windows are typically used for continuous runs of windows. These systems use thermally broken aluminum framing that is designed for long banks of fixed windows.
Many office buildings use ribbon windows because they are cost effective and versatile. Ribbon windows can have either a butt-glazed back-up mullions with no vertical framing visible from the exterior or have true mullions.
Ribbon windows are designed to allow for normal building and thermal movement with expansion mullions. They can be either glazed from the exterior or interior and can accept almost any type of insulated glass. We recommend tinted or reflective glass for the best combination of aesthetics and energy performance.
We have experienced the evolution of ribbon window systems and know how they should be designed and installed.
